Why Be A Nurse Essay

This is a story of how I met a nurse who inspired and motivated me.

I was visiting my grandmother as I had always done every week. She was just as caring for the other patients that she attended to. It is not easy to make a terminally or chronically ill person have a smile on their face with so much ease as she did.

The field of medicine has its ups and downs, considering how expensive the cost of treatment has become and the different new technologies used to improve patient care and treatment.

However, as it turned out, that day would be different. Of course, I had to inquire more from my Nana regarding her. Knowing Nana, that statement was worth investigating further.

Normally, I would meet the nurse on duty, taking care of my grandmother, for some few brief minutes in the lobby, but on that day, I did not. Long story short, the nurse was touching the lives of patients in every way that she could.

During the life time of the child and in adult age one will have several encounters with nurses for both curative and preventive help.

Nurses also help people deal with loss after death. It is believed to have started in the 1500 when for the first time there was a wet nurse.

Nurses can work in schools, judiciary, insurance companies, prisons, homes and in corporations.

Nurses are involved in all stages of the human life from before birth up to and after death.
