Out of 208 papers published in this period, 119 papers related to leadership studies were reviewed.
Results: The paper brought out seven important research gaps for the future researchers to fill, which indicated that the research arena was wide open for the future research in the area of leadership and related areas that could be explored by novel research particularly with a focus on developing markets as none of the reviewed papers focus on developing markets.
