The Tragedy in Paul's Case My father has passed on many words of wisdom to me over the years; but the one which I was reminded of on reading 'Paul's Case' by Willa Cather was the one about levels of maturity.My father always believed that many people go through two levels of immaturity before reaching the final level of maturity.

Yet, at the end of the play, Nora apparently has an epiphany, and a glorious, independent, grounded feminist emerges from Nora at the end of the play. Neighbor Rosicky Neighbor Rosicky is a short story written about an immigrant and his life in a farm, in Nebraska.

The short story puts forward themes that emphasize the importance of hard work, freedom and family unity.

The story first describes Polly when Rosicky states, “Polly got lots of spunk, an she got some style, too.

Das nice, for young folks to have some style” (Cather 1932).

As the story advances, the reader becomes aware that Polly was raised in a more populated environment and has had to adjust to life on a farm.

Polly has married Rosicky’s son Rudolph, so Rosicky has taken pains to aid in her adjustment to her new life.

In the first level of immaturity, one thinks that he/she is right and the world is wrong.

The second level begins when the same person begins to think that the world is right and he/she is wrong.

It is only at the final level of maturity that one realizes that both, the world and the individual, are right in their own ways.
